Learn: Cooking in the Cabin
Please check the Web site for updated information.

Are there some nights when you feel like even throwing Chef Boyardee in the microwave is too much work (in conjunction with your zillions of other daily household chores)? Not that we don’t feel your pain, but maybe it’s time for you and the kids to check out Cooking in the Cabin at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum. This class, which runs $24 per person for non-residents and $19 per person for residents, gives participants a taste of how and what early pioneers cooked. Best of all, it’s held in the museum’s log cabin, so you’ll have that whole rustic atmosphere thing going for you. Advanced registration is required, and the session is best-suited for six- to eight-year-olds. When all is said and done, you’ll probably leave thanking your lucky stars that you don’t need to cook the chef’s spaghetti and meatballs over an open fire . . .
