With a theme of “Grow, Cook and Taste,” Club Sprouts is sure to please just about any nutrition-conscious mom and dad. And this is one lesson in good health your brood won’t balk at either. First, get started at a cooking class for little people from 9:30 to 10:00 A.M. at Green City Market. (Today’s featured chef will be Elena Marre from local cooking school The Kids’ Table.) Next, head to GCM's Edible Gardens at Lincoln Park's Farm-in-the-Zoo from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., when hands-on activities will show kids where food comes from and how to be ecologically responsible about growing it. Finally, sign your babes up for the Sprouts Club, so they can get membership cards, sample fruits and veggies at the Information Tables at Green City Market and receive gifts like baseball caps and aprons. Bet your family never knew munching on greens could be so rewarding!
