Step right up to the Halloween Boonanza at the Schaumburg Community Recreation Center and Safety Park! Take your pick from carnival-style activities, hayrides and, of course, candy. Register by October 30 and save $2 off the $7 youth fee; parents and children under one are free.

Potbelly Monster Mad Dash at the Trick-or-Treat Trot at Montrose Avenue Lakefront Park
Work off those candy bellies before you even have them! Join 3,000 neighbors for several Trick-or-Treat Trots with the Lincoln Park Racer at Montrose Avenue Lakefront Park. While moms and dads can opt for 5 and 10K runs, children will love the Potbelly Monster Mash Dash, a specialty for ages two through 12.

Spooky Daze at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center
Put those costumes to good use at Evanston’s Spooky Daze at the Fleetwood Halloween event. This free, no-reservations party at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center features games, clowns, a magic show and refreshments for your four- through 10-year-olds.

Spooky Zoo Spectacular at the Lincoln Park Zoo
