Music soothes the savage beast, and what’s more savage then kids dealing with the heat of summer? Bring the family out to relax and sing along with the Carroll Park 2008 Kids’ Concert Series. Each Wednesday until August 20, the park will be hosting popular children’s musicians like today’s headliner Randy Kaplan. Kaplan has been featured in New York Magazine and Cookie Magazine for his albums, which include a mix of rock, pop, folk and blues. Future concerts will involve Uncle Rock and the Bari Koral Family Band. There is a $5 suggested donation per family for this drop-in event, which also boasts craft projects and face painting. The money raised will be used to help improve Carroll Park and to support similar activities.
