What Makes a Pool Cool?

Go: The Red Hook Swimming Pool
Mondays through Sundays until 9/1/2008. Please check the Web site for updated information.

There are a lot of public pools where you can cool off this summer, but how many of them offer a separate kiddie play area and proximity to the best tacos in the city? It's that very ambiance that makes the Red Hook Swimming Pool in Brooklyn stand out above the rest. For adults and older children, the Olympic-sized swimming pool is perfect for playing a game of Marco Polo or just floating away the afternoon. Younger tykes will have a ball at the kiddie pool, which includes sprinklers and showerheads that are sure to get the little ones soaked! Across from the pool complex are a number of taco stands that feature some of the best Mexican and Latin food in the city. Admission to the Red Hook is free, and the pool is open daily from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
