Star Light, Star Bright . . .

Gaze: Starfest at Sheep Meadow in Central Park
Please check the Web site for updated information.

In New York City, it’s easy to forget that there are other forms of life out there in other cities, let alone in the sky. Luckily, the Amateur Astronomers Association and Urban Park Rangers are here to bring us back to Earth – and then some – with Starfest. Join these two groups this Saturday for some classic stargazing in Central Park’s Sheep Meadow. You and your starry-eyed children can keep a look out for Jupiter, the Summer Triangle, the Andromeda Galaxy and more. Though you can stare up at the sky from the comfort of your own window, this free event takes you deep into the middle of the meadow, far from the bright lights of NYC, so it’s easier to make out the constellations. Also, the expert assistance from the hosting organizations isn’t bad either.
