First Friday isn’t just an Old City event – the Main Line area has its own art night, too. Since 2006, the organization behind First Friday Main Line has worked to bring art to the area and prove to adult suburbanites that not everything closes down when the sun sets. The villages of Ardmore, Haverford and Bryn Mawr come together on the first Friday of every month to showcase local artists, musicians and performers. It’s not just art galleries either – restaurants, car dealerships and venues like coffeehouse Milkboy Coffee take part in the event, as well. Enjoying the art and music is free, and participating restaurants often offer special meals or discounted prices this evening. And don’t worry about only being able to hit one area; you can get from village to village on the free Lancaster Avenue trolleys that run until 10:00 P.M.
