Going batty this summer from running your active ankle biters all over town? Take a breather and get back to nature with this easy, 90-minute hike and creature watch at Lower Merion Conservancy. Aptly titled “Bats, Birds and Bugs,” this Family Summer Series event has trail leaders guiding you and your tykes on an exploration through Rolling Hill Park. You’ll start with some stories and a snack before embarking on a trail filled with flying bats, chirping birds and strange insects. Kids can use binoculars to search for birds, examine flowers to find insects and squint through the dusk to see bats diving through the sky. This activity is free, but space is limited, and advanced registration is required. Visitors should meet at the Lower Merion Conservancy Cottage to begin the tour.
