Pack up the car and head to the Delaware Water Gap for a day of tubing and a lot more. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area encompasses 40 miles of the Middle Delaware River and more than 60,000 acres of river valley in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. And, although the park contains 100 miles of hiking trails, it’s really all about what you can do on and in the water. The Delaware River is the park’s focus and is the perfect spot for rafting, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing, swimming and, if you are feeling a little lazier, taking in scenic waterfalls. If you don’t want to get in the water, you can also go biking, horseback riding or rock climbing. Sure, that’s a lot to do, but since the park is about 90 miles from the city, you’ll want to plan a full day’s worth of outdoor fun.
