Cast your lines and see what you catch this Saturday at the 2008 Philly Fun Fishing Fest at various points along the Schuylkill River. (See the Web site below for a complete list of locations.) You and the fam don’t need a license to participate in this event, which runs from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., is completely free and features a variety of fun prizes. Simply register online or call 215.685.6300 to grab your tackle and join in the fun. As an added perk, fishing gear will be available for loan on a first come, first served basis. In addition, this competition is catch and release. (Put another way, you’ll be sending a positive ecological message to your tykes and won’t have to deal with any tears over dead fishies.) Don’t forget to pack a bag lunch either – tuna sandwiches might be a good option!
