Make Way for the New Museum!

Go: Opening of the Please Touch Museum at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park
Categories: Cool Local News

Saturday, October 18, 2008 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

On October 18, 2008, the Please Touch Museum will open its doors at a new location at the Memorial Hall (4231 Avenue of the Republic in Philadelphia) in a building that was built for the 1876 Centennial Exhibition. The new facility will be more than triple the size of the museum’s current 21st Street home and will offer families some of the things they’ve been missing, including a large on-site parking lot and a Please Taste Café. Toddlers will enjoy added fun, as the revamped PTM will have a three-and-under area in each section of exhibits, as opposed to the current single section for tots. Old favorites like the SEPTA bus, the waterworks, the hands-on river and the famed supermarket will make the move to the Memorial Hall location. There they will join additional exhibits like Fly Fitness, which will allow tykes to create their own planes and rockets.
