A trip to the museum can make for a fun weekend for families, but a grand reopening at one of the most famous museums in the country takes that to a whole new level. On November 21, the Lemelson Center at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. will reopen after a two-year renovation, promising smiles from little explorers and their grateful parents. Features at the opening include the Spark Lab, the Inventions at Play exhibit and the Invention Playhouse. Attendees can even delight in thought-provoking games like puzzle blocks and tinkerball. Future Alexander Graham Bells are encouraged to play their creations into fruition, and anxious moms and dads are invited to sit back and watch. Also be sure to check out the new Lemelson Center Web site, which features interactive games that will have you running to the District in no time.
